Paper & Cloth Module Report

The 'Live' brief with Paper & Cloth, started with quick responses to flowers with a range of medias, exploring ways to create different styles, by using creative drawings styles such as right and left hand drawing, mouth drawing, drawing with your eyes closed, 10 second drawing, this achieved a free drawing style with good line qualities.

After choosing to do stationary I did research on 6 outlets, asking customers their name, age, 3 musical they currently like, a film they have enjoyed and an event/political matter/global matter/celebrity issue that has impacted them recently. This was to get an idea of what the outlets customers were thinking. The surveys were interesting as a lot of them had the same answers despite being from different generations. Tv shows such as Dancing On Ice and Popstar to Operastar has turned Katherine Jenkins into one of the favourites for musical artists, along with Micheal Buble who performed on XFactor, these shows have a high number of viewers and clearly have an influencial effect on the public. Florance and the Machine was a favourite for 20-35 year olds, as her single had just recently reached the charts.
Avatar obviously has had a lot of reviews and hype around it so it was no surprise that most people said Avatar as their movie choice and after the the worldwide appeal for the Haiti earthquake it seemed an obvious choice for people to pick as it was at the foremost in their minds. Though some people mentioned Iraq and the current war.

I picked my colour palette from the island Haiti as a future colour palette and linked it with the theme Exotic Flowers & Animals.
